Cast Iron Performance. Enamel Simplicity. The 3 Qt Enamel Dutch Oven.
Cast iron has been the gold standard for heat retention and even cooking for centuries. The drawback has always been the maintenance — seasoning, rust prevention, and the care required to keep an uncoated surface performing at its best. Enamel coating solves all of that.
The 3 Qt Enamel Coated Cast Iron Dutch Oven delivers every advantage of cast iron — exceptional heat retention, superior even heat distribution, and the kind of long, slow cooking performance that makes braises, stews, and soups genuinely exceptional — without any of the maintenance burden. The enamel surface requires no seasoning, is non-reactive with acidic ingredients, and cleans easily after use.
Why Enamelled Cast Iron
- Superior heat retention — cast iron absorbs and holds heat better than any other common cookware material; maintains consistent temperature through the entire cook
- Even heat distribution — eliminates hot spots that cause uneven cooking in lighter-weight pans
- No seasoning required — the enamel coating provides a non-reactive, easy-release surface from the first use
- Non-reactive surface — safe for acidic ingredients like tomatoes, citrus, and wine that can strip seasoning from uncoated cast iron
- Stovetop to oven to table — works on all hob types and in the oven; serves directly at the table from the cooking vessel
- Built to last generations — properly cared for, enamelled cast iron outlasts virtually any other cookware
Specifications
- Capacity — 3 quarts — ideal for 2–3 servings; perfectly sized for couples, small families, and single-portion batch cooking
- Material — cast iron with enamel coating
- Compatible hobs — gas, electric, ceramic, and induction
- Oven safe — suitable for high-temperature oven use; check lid knob for specific temperature limits
Best Used For
- Braising — the heat retention and tight-fitting lid create the perfect environment for low-and-slow cooking
- Soups and stews — consistent, even simmering without scorching; the enamel surface is safe for tomato-based recipes
- Bread baking — small artisan loaves; the enclosed cast iron environment creates bakery-quality crust
- Searing and one-pot meals — brown proteins directly in the Dutch oven before adding liquids for maximum flavour development
Care Instructions
- Allow to cool before washing — thermal shock can crack the enamel
- Hand wash with warm soapy water and a soft cloth or nylon brush
- Avoid metal utensils and abrasive scrubbers — they chip and scratch the enamel surface
- For stubborn residue: fill with warm water and allow to soak before washing
- Dry thoroughly after washing and store with the lid ajar to allow air circulation
Cast iron heat retention. Enamel ease. Three quarts of the most versatile cookware ever made.
