The Everyday Dutch Oven. 4.75 Qt Enameled Cast Iron in Blue.
The 4.75 Qt Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven hits the sweet spot between compact and generous — large enough for family-sized braises, stews, and one-pot meals, manageable enough to lift and store without effort. The ceramic enamel coating means no seasoning required, non-reactive with acidic ingredients, and easy cleanup after long, slow cooks.
Key Features
- 4.75 qt capacity — ideal for 2–4 servings; fits a whole 3–4 lb chicken, generous stews, and artisan bread loaves
- Ceramic enamel interior and exterior — resists sticking and staining; no seasoning required; non-reactive with tomatoes, citrus, and wine
- Oven safe to 450°F — sear on the stovetop and finish in the oven without switching vessels
- Tight-fitting lid — traps steam and moisture for tender, flavour-dense results
- Wide easy-grip handles — comfortable and secure when moving between stovetop, oven, and table
- All hob compatible — gas, electric, ceramic, and induction
- Serves at the table — the blue enamel finish looks as good on the table as it does on the stovetop
Best Used For
- Braising — sear proteins directly in the pot, add liquid and aromatics, cover and cook low and slow
- Soups, stews, and chilli — consistent, even simmering without scorching
- Artisan bread — preheat the Dutch oven in the oven before adding dough for maximum crust and oven spring
- Whole roast chicken — the enclosed environment bastes the bird continuously for juicy, tender results
- One-pot pasta and risotto — sauté, simmer, and serve in the same vessel
How to Use
- Preheat on low to medium heat — cast iron retains heat efficiently; high heat is rarely needed
- Sear proteins first, then reduce heat before adding liquids and covering
- For bread: preheat the Dutch oven (with lid) in the oven at your baking temperature, then carefully lower the dough in and cover
- Do not exceed 450°F to protect the enamel and lid hardware
Care Instructions
- Allow to cool completely before washing — thermal shock can crack the enamel
- Hand wash with warm water and mild dish soap using a soft sponge or nylon brush
- For stubborn residue: soak in warm soapy water for 15–20 minutes, or use a baking soda paste and a soft sponge
- Avoid steel wool, metal scourers, and harsh abrasive cleaners
- Store with the lid ajar to allow air circulation
4.75 quarts. Enamel blue. The everyday Dutch oven that handles every cooking method and serves straight to the table.
